Jamie has been a part of our operations team for over a year now. At Kortec he has been responsible for ensuring quality control on all of our standard matched colour production.
He also liaised closely with the client care team and production team to ensure that all client orders are manufactured as planned.
It has been a pleasure having Jamie as a part of our team and he will be sadly missed. However, we are excited for him to start his next chapter studying higher education Science!
Over the past couple of years Spencer has been working on a lot of large IT/systems projects for Kortec, which are key to our level of service and efficiency. These are largely complete now and we have external partners in place for future requirements, so we have been discussing a new focus for him - moving to our sister company Markham Global as a Project Coordinator, to help deliver the fast growth we are seeing there.
We're pleased to say that Spencer has accepted this role and will be making the move with immediate effect. We look forward to watching Spencer succeed in his new role!
As you may be aware from our February Newsletter Kortec has been focused for some time on apprenticeship schemes – we are glad to announce we are now recruiting for 2 new Production/Quality Control apprentices to join our team. We are excited to see what new viewpoints they will bring to Kortec to help drive us forward under the Advance 2023 theme!
As you may be aware we have been collaborating with IWATA for the supply of Spray equipment since earlier this year. This month our Business Development team have had an exciting opportunity to test out the new IWATA pump, with IWATA professionals Jason and Gavin helping them on the best way to achieve optimum performance with this product. We have seen the fantastic results and benefits from this new 30:1 pump - the main two being:
We are pleased to say that we will be expanding our overall solutions range with our new equipment partner Festool.
The first stage of our expansion includes the Festool sander which is a state-of-the-art piece of equipment this will allow us to optimise our preparation phase. As well as allowing us to carry out various techniques including edge, flat and profile sanding. This sander offers different settings for a range of substrates and material and has an advanced extraction which allows us to stay on top of our health and safety.

New isocyanate regulations – does this affect you?
As you may be aware from recent posts the European Commission has adopted a regulation amending Annex XVII of REACH to restrict di-isocyanates on the EU market which will take effect after the 24th of August 2023. This requires that all users of these products are formally trained on their safe use.
Training courses have been developed by the manufacturers to meet this requirement - these courses can be found on https://lnkd.in/eMV6nrjX Please be aware that the training requirement also applies to end users such as yourselves and needs renewing every 5 years.

The British Coatings Federation has recently released new data which shows paint and coatings manufacturers are continuing to be hit from all sides with the raw material cost increases. As you are aware Kortec have recently implemented a price increase that is intended to account for these pressures, so we have no plans for further increases but wanted to keep you informed of the general state of the market.
