It’s been an eventful month here at Kortec – a mid-year teambuilding event, the release of our new VARLAQ can design, and some changes within the team.

To reward and develop our team, we hosted a company event day at Armourgeddon tank driving in Lutterworth on Friday 23^rd June. 

We worked in small teams where each team learnt how to drive a tank, shoot, and aim, so that when it came down to the final paintball battle, they were able to identify each other’s strengths and weaknesses and choose roles that worked to the team’s advantage so that they were able to beat their opposition. 

This was a fantastic opportunity to thank the whole team for all their hard work so far this year, and for everyone to experience our company values in a different environment!

VARLAQ Can Release

As you may be aware we have been adapting our current VARLAQ brand design so that this can highlight our new focus to “Enhance & Protect”. 
 
The new cans are now ready and we’re really happy with the look! To support this and cover some of the newer areas that the brand now covers, we’ve also refreshed the Varlaq brochure that will be released very soon - keep an eye out for it being released!
 
The old cans are still being slowly phased out so those of you that are currently purchasing VARLAQ products will still see the old look at times whilst the stocks are being refreshed.

Goodbye Jim! 

Jim has been a valued part of our operations team as a Logistics Operative here at Kortec. His main responsibilities have included delivering our products to our clients, collecting samples, and helping the warehouse team with picking orders. 
 
Having covered many miles for Kortec he’s now moving on to his next opportunity - it has been a pleasure working with Jim and we would like to wish him the best of luck in his future career! 

First Furniture+ Networking & Demonstration Day

As you may be aware our Furniture+ event is happening on 11th July 2023 (10 am - 3 pm); this will be an awesome opportunity to network with major industry players, see equipment and processes demonstrated by leading suppliers, learn about developments from key industry bodies and discuss the present and future state of the market.

We'll be covering automatic application with Cefla, hand application and consumables with Anest Iwata and preparation with Festool. 

Attendees will enjoy a free Hog Roast meal, while expanding their relationships and knowledge of the industry!

Looking Back... 4 Years At Zenith Point! 

We’ve just hit our four-year anniversary since moving to Zenith Point - we thought it was a good point to look back and see what progress there has been over the years! 
 
Thank you to everyone for your continued support in Kortec and maintaining a trusted partnership with us, as we would never have gotten this far without you. We still can’t believe how quickly the time has passed.

This month Reece and Paul have had the opportunity of demonstrating our products to a potential furniture-manufacturing client who is looking at transitioning from hand spraying solvent-based coatings to auto-line spraying water-based coatings. 
 
This in-house trial really showcased the advantage of our autoline facility, as they were able to test spraying various substrates exactly how the client would like to in the future, in a situation where they don’t yet have the equipment to do so, which will minimise implementation delays down the line.

Jotun has decided to donate nearly £150,000 to The Red Cross/Red Crescent and their emergency aid in the Ukraine area (read the full article here).

We noticed this very generous donation by Jotun (one of Kortec’s key supply partners), supporting the humanitarian situation in Ukraine - our sincere sympathy to all those affected. We also wanted to do something to help and have been making donations via the directors to fund provision of food, clothing etc – we’re glad to work with companies that share such values.
